Attention shall be paid to the maintenance of water pump, especially the maintenance of split pump (single-stage double suction pump), because most split pumps are used in large flow situations. If attention is not paid during the maintenance, the efficiency of water pump may be reduced, but it cannot meet the requirements of large flow pumps.

1. In addition to strictly following the installation and operation instructions, two points should be noted:

First, do not rely solely on "experience". For example, when the bottom valve of the water pump leaks, some operators try to save time. Before starting each time, fill the inlet pipe orifice with dry soil, and then fill water to flush the soil to the bottom valve, so that the bottom valve does not leak. This method looks simple and easy, but it is not enough. Because when the pump starts to work, the sand in the bottom valve will enter the pump with water and wear the impeller, pump casing and shaft, seriously affecting the service life. The correct method is to repair the bottom valve. If it is really impossible to repair, replace it.

Second, the fault shall be eliminated in time, and the unit shall not be allowed to work "with fault". For example, if the pump shaft packing is found to be seriously worn, the packing shall be added in time, otherwise the pump shaft packing will leak. Air leakage of the pump shaft packing not only causes excessive energy consumption of the unit, but also causes cavitation, which speeds up the damage of the impeller and directly affects the service life of the pump. For another example, in case of severe vibration of the water pump, stop the pump immediately for inspection; otherwise, if the water pump is bent and deformed, a safety accident may occur.

2. After using the pump unit and pipeline for a period of time, the following maintenance work should be done well:

(1) Drain the remaining water in the water pump and pipeline.

(2) If it is convenient to disassemble, the water pump and pipeline can be disassembled and cleaned.

(3) Check the ball bearing and replace it if the inner sleeve is worn, loose, the ball is worn or the surface has spots. If it can still be used, clean the bearing with gasoline or kerosene and then grease it for storage.

(4) Check whether there is crack or small hole on the impeller, and whether the impeller fixing nut is loose. If it is damaged, repair or replace it. Check the clearance at the impeller antifriction ring. If it exceeds the specified value, repair or replace it.

(5) If the water pump and pipeline are not disassembled, the outlet shall be sealed with a cover plate to prevent sundries from entering.

(6) When the transmission belt is not in use, it should be removed, cleaned and dried with warm water, and stored in a place free from direct sunlight, or in a place with oil, corrosion and smoke. Under no circumstances should the adhesive tape be stained with oil, diesel or gasoline, or coated with rosin or other viscous substances. Before using the tape, the white powder on the contact surface of the tape must be removed.
